Tilia Labs to launch tilia Aries step-and-repeat for label printers at Labelexpo Europe

Easy-learn solution promises fastest route to efficient label layout (Booth 8A10)

(Ottawa, Canada) Sep 10th, 2019– Tilia Labs, Inc., a leading developer of planning, imposition, and Artificially Intelligent automation software solutions for the graphic arts industries, will launch a new solution at Labelexpo that offers to dramatically reduce time and costs in label production. Tilia Aries is a cross-platform step-and-repeat tool for label printers that enables quick and easy layout for preprint, cutting and finishing.

Located on booth 8A10 at Labelexpo Europe (Brussels Expo, September 24 – 27), Tilia Labs and its local agent SS&C will present the new solution featuring a range of common label production scenarios, such as custom repeats, multiple label combinations and mixed size or irregular-shaped label examples. Visitors are invited to try the application for themselves and experience first-hand the speed and ease-of-use of tilia Aries.

Tilia Aries has been designed from the ground up to simplify label pre-production. Its simple user interface is based on Google standards and design, allowing operatives of any discipline to easily and intuitively generate print ready layouts in minutes. The user can select existing settings or create new impositions, easily adjusting sizes, margins and substrates as required. Artwork files are imported into the layout by simple drag and drop, while dielines can be stored and retrieved, or generated in an instant.

Vendor neutral, Aries is designed to provide the same efficiencies with virtually all printing machines and finishing devices, for both seamless-repeat roll-based and sheetfed production. Its modern architecture and use of open standards ensure that it will integrate into any workflow or MIS system and cut across the confusion of proprietary hardware and software.

“For Aries we’ve particularly focused on the needs of digital label producers throughout the development, concentrating on how they can ensure quick turnaround – and profit – whatever the mix of formats, finishes and repeat lengths,” comments Sagen de Jonge, CEO of Tilia Labs. “We’ve drawn on the technology behind our award-winning tilia Phoenix planning and imposition software to deliver speed, flexibility and responsiveness, but without the multi-layered sophistication. This truly is a plug and play tool that will deliver returns from day one. We’re anticipating a very good response at Labelexpo.”

At Labelexpo, Tilia Labs will also present its flagship tilia Phoenix solution, which was recently distinguished with an InterTech™ award from Printing Industries of America. PIA cited its unique use of cutting-edge AI to solve complex planning problems at unprecedented speeds, which makes it capable of keeping up with the fastest presses on the market. For visitors to Labelexpo, highlights of tilia Phoenix also include enhanced lane-based planning, standing die support and marks control as well as improved estimating and reporting for better analysis.

To secure a one-to-one demonstration of tilia Aries or tilia Phoenix during the show, visitors are encouraged to arrange and appointment ahead of the event by contacting Joris Van Hemelrijck (SS&C), email: or
